Welcome to our Club!

Welcome to the Hobart Tiger Shark Swim Club, a non-profit organization run by members/parents of the community. Our goal is to promote an interest in competitive swimming, provide a safe and supervised environment where kids of all ages gain confidence, self-esteem and most of all have some fun. HTS is currently a member of Indiana Swimming and Northwest Indiana Swim Conference (NWISC).

We are in the Winter 2007/2008 season and have a very exciting season ahead of us. You will not want to miss this season. If you are ready for a fun-filled winter come out and join the Tiger Sharks Team. We welcome anyone to come out and see us swim. We practice and hold home meets at the Hobart High School. Come out and see if your child might be interested in joining the team.

Practices are held Monday - Friday from 5:30pm - 7:30pm

Our coaches and volunteers are members of the community as well as parents of our swimmers. Coaches have obtained certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Water Safety and have current Coaching Certification. All are here to help your children have the best swimming experience possible.

Swimming is beneficial to a growing child in many ways. A child is developing rapidly both mentally and physically. Swimming on a team gives them lifelong friendships, peer support, encouragement and provides for cardiovascular and overall fitness.

Swimming benefits our children and parents in many other ways. Sportsmanship, active listening, self-discipline and time management are just a few. Most children improve rapidly in the early ages. Our coaches will work with each child to improve techniques and fundamental skills. Parents can be highly involved by being supportive, give encouragement, and volunteering, as time is available. Most of all, age-group swimming should be fun and pressure free. Supporting your swimmer can be very rewarding. You may enjoy cheering from the bleachers at competitions, timing at events or volunteering at concessions stands. Anyway you choose to be involved, your positive support is very important in your child’s swimming experience. Remember… children learn a lot from our actions.
